Bless Your Heart

When a Southerner or country folk say, "Bless your heart," it could mean a dozen different things. But when you tack on the opening phrase, "Oh, honey," it becomes a potent word bomb infused with pity, condescension, exasperation, and longsuffering combined with the conviction that the receiver is a complete idiot. Bless their hearts.
